New Zealand Fantail / Piwakawaka (Rhipidura fuliginosa, Rhipuridae: Fantails) North Island, New Zealand (1080p)
Widespread across New Zealand, here we see a North Island bird with white tail feathers except the central pair of its aptly named tail on show. It is hunting for insects in lake-side vegetation on a cold winters' day. The cold weather seemed to have brought them out into more open country to feed, than the dense vegetation they are often found in during the breeding season in the warmer months.
