Grey Warbler / Riririro (Gerygone ignata) (Acanthizidae - Scrubwrens, Gerygones, Thornbills etc.)

The call of the Grey warbler / Riroriro is one of the most characteristic sounds of native bush in New Zealand. It is an easy to hear, but this hyperactive little bird often difficult to see. One of two Gerygones endemic to New Zealand, it is common in forest and scrub and often found in established gardens. It has a number of close relatives in Australia, for example vimeo.com/110632334
