North Island robin / Toutouwai (Petrocica longipes,Petroicidae: Australasian Robins) Central North Island, New Zealand
The North Island robin is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand and some offshore islands. While easier to see on predator free offshore island this species can still be found in forests in central North Island - as filmed here. It is a very confiding bird and will come and look at you if you enter its territory.
